A beginner's path through four-letter word ladders

The first ladder is the hardest only because the rules are unfamiliar. Four letters, one change per step, a target word at the end.

Start by writing both endpoints. Then look for the letters that do not move; those anchor the route. A short detour is often faster than a clever single leap.

Practice ladders of three steps before attempting daily puzzles. Familiarity with common transitions beats vocabulary size most days.
